Garden Basil Pesto

A handful of basil from the garden turns into the most useful sauce in your kitchen. Toss with pasta, spread on bread, or freeze for winter.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- ⅓ cup pine nuts (or walnuts)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan
- 2 cloves garlic
- ½ cup olive oil
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Pulse basil, nuts, garlic, and Parmesan in a food processor until coarse.
- With the motor running, drizzle in the olive oil until smooth.
- Season with salt. Use right away, or freeze in ice-cube trays for later.
